Dance Floor + Bar = Amazing Wedding Reception

When you think of your perfect wedding reception, what comes to mind? Most likely a full dance floor of happy guests who stay until your grand exit because they’re having so much fun. As a bride or groom, there are so many decisions you have to make so that your wedding day is amazing. This one decision is a seemingly small one, but it could make or break the longevity of your wedding reception.

Where is the best place for your bar?

You want your bar to be near the dance floor. Many venues have a fixed bar, so you may not have a choice on its location. If that’s the case, consider the bar’s location when picking your wedding venue. If you get to choose the location of your bar, put it near the dance floor. If the bar is built in, but not near the dance floor, consider renting a portable bar to put near your dance floor. Here’s why.

You want your guests to stay on, or at least around, the dance floor. If they’re hesitant to dance, they might be persuaded by a little peer pressure when they see how much fun their family and friends are having. If they’re going outside, or to another room to visit the bar, they likely won’t make it back. You want the action to be on the dance floor, and with a good DJ, many will. But your guests will constantly be pulled out of the room to go to the bar, and that makes it more difficult to get them back to the dance floor.

If the bar is near the dance floor, even the non-dancers will be close by supporting the dancers. It creates a positive vibe for all the guests on and off the dance floor.

Having your bar in a separate location gives guests a place to hide from the dance floor. Everyone needs a break sometimes, but you don’t want them to have an excuse to stay away from the dance floor all night. They won’t have a reason to go back because they’ll have all they need as long as they have a drink.

Even your hardiest dancers will need to go to the bar to refresh their drinks. When they do, they could easily get distracted in conversation with other guests by the bar and not make it back to the dance floor.

Even the best wedding DJs can’t compete with the bar! Your DJ will work their heart out to keep your dance floor hopping, but help them out by putting the bar close by. This will help fulfill your wedding day visions, keep your guests happy, and help your DJ get your guests where they belong: on the dance floor!

Here are some great places to rent a fabulous portable bar: Aiden & Grace, Got Ya Covered Linens, and Metro Cuisine Catering & Event Rental.

You can also rent a cool mobile bar from: Short & Stout and Sunshine Wine Mobile Bar
