Creating Outstanding Wedding DJs

A person doesn’t become a great DJ overnight. An outgoing personality helps, but they require in-depth training to match the level of excellence and customer service expected of a Turn Up Columbus DJ. We invest a lot into our DJs so you are guaranteed a professional, well-equipped DJ for your wedding day.

We look for candidates who are motivated to learn and will take the initiative to become great. We look for outgoing personalities, but they must show responsibility. Our DJs come from a variety of backgrounds and skill sets, and most also have a day job. Some of their jobs include engineer, teacher, student, cashier, and club DJ. We are currently looking for motivated individuals interested in becoming a wedding DJ. Email hello@turnupcolumbus.com for more information.

Our DJ’s are required to shadow at least 10 weddings with experienced DJs. We partner with Josh Staley Productions so our trainees get to see amazing DJs and a variety of venues. This allows them to observe some of the best DJs in Columbus, Ohio in action! They have multiple training sessions and tests on mixing, MCing, Customer Engagement, and Wedding Day responsibilities. They attend 3 planning meetings with other DJs before they can lead their own meetings. They finish their training by performing a mock wedding in our offices to show that they are ready to lead their own weddings and perform at the Turn Up Columbus standard!

We provide the training, equipment, and on-going support, so even after they complete training and are planning weddings, our DJs are never on their own. You can be confident that the DJ you get from Turn Up Columbus is ready to work with you to create your perfect wedding day!
